I had one very special Engagement Session to end our 2017 year. Hunter has known James for several years now. They both served on the Army National Guard's Honor Guard, and became good friends. Brittney and James wanted to schedule their engagement photos to announce the recent proposal, and also before James deploys in January.
What a wonderful year thanks to all of our amazing couples! We had the opportunity to travel quite a bit this year, and are looking forward to all of the 2018 weddings that are in some beautiful new venues! We truly have the best brides and grooms, and feel so blessed to love what we do.
Brenna and Blake are Middle School Sweethearts! How amazing is that?!? With Hunter and I being High School Sweethearts I was just in LOVE with their story when I found out how long they have been together. Every wedding day is unique and special, but the whole day was just filled with so much joy and emotions from everyone. The day had finally come to see these two become husband and wife as they were always destined to be.
The PERFECT Fall day is what Melissa and Tony had for their wedding. The weather could not of been nicer out. The Wren Chapel is the sweetest little Ceremony Venue for William and Mary Alumni. We have been there a few times for weddings, and just love it! Not to mention after the Ceremony the gorgeous area in Colonial Williamsburg for portraits.
The mountain views in Wintergreen were just stunning! The perfect backdrop for Michael and Amanda's Engagement Session. We started the evening at Devil's Backbone Brewery chatting about all things wedding, and then walking around taking advantage of all the perfect photo spots there. I just loved it there!
Gorgeous buildings, cobblestone streets, and a beautiful sweet couple! Norfolk is quickly becoming a favorite place to photograph! The Downtown setting near Waterside was the perfect place for the vision that Claudia and Derek had for their photos.
I love getting to travel for Engagement Sessions! Seeing different places, and making a day of it when I can is so much fun! That is exactly what we did for Alex and Allison's photos. Mom and Liam came with me, and we spent such a nice day together. One of the things we did was eat in New Kent at the " Country Kitchen " it was SO good! Such a sweet little place right off of some back roads that we found! Everything was delicious, and if you like Krispy Kreme they had a Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding! It was amazingggg!
Talyor and Tyler's Engagement Session in Smithfield was truly the picture perfect evening! First thing getting to meet them for the first time was so exciting. We have only chatted through Skype, and emails! As soon as we got started with their photos I knew it was going to be such a fun session. No true posing needed with these two, because they would smile and laugh all on their own together!
Morgan and Mike were just incredible to spend the evening with. We walked all around the private beach in Smithfield owned by a good family friend of theirs. They sat on the dock, snuggled in the sea grass, and then ended their evening wrapped up in Morgan's Grandma's quilt in a nearby cotton field!
This was such an AWESOME afternoon for Britni and Philip's Engagement Session! Philip used to work at the Fighter Factory restoring planes. He was able to have access to the hangers, and made this session by far one of the most unique ones I have ever done.
Cindy and Zach had the most incredibly perfect wedding day! Gorgeous weather for the first weekend of September, and seriously some of the prettiest light I have ever seen! One of my favorite venues by far in this area is the Woman's Club of Portsmouth. Such a little hidden treasure for couples to have their dream day staying close to home.
London Marie Ormsby made her arrival on August 28th at 2:19 PM. A future leadline, and pony rider in the making! She could not of been more perfect for her photos. She was cozy and sleepy the whole time! I hope you love looking through these moments! I could go on an on about how precious she is, and how happy I am for them... but you can see for yourself the joy on Ty and Kendall's face... and how adorable their baby girl is!
When our couples choose us to not only capture their photos, but their film too I am so excited for them! Photos are amazing, and truly I am believer that you can never have enough! You never get a moment back once it is gone. You can't relive that exact moment ever again. So a photo of that moment saves it forever! A film of that moment literally draws the emotion you felt in the words you were saying, or the even the breath you were taking.
Jason and Leigh had an absolutely beautiful day for their wedding! It was just starting to cool off outside, and that crisp Fall air start to make its appearance. The Signature at West Neck is such a fabulous venue! Their Ceremony site, Reception on the covered patio, and different places for portraits gave such a variety to the day.
Ashleigh just had a beautiful wedding in Ireland on August 26th! Now that she is married I can share her bridals in Smithfield! I loved so much getting to take these for her! They were at the sweetest little farm in Smithfield that is only a golf cart away from Fort Boykins. After we finished up at the farm capturing all the equestrian ones with her horse Matt we headed to the water to capture the sunset. Oh what a sunset it was!!!
The Carty's wedding day was a dream come true for them! Katelyn's signature color of mint was elegantly placed through out her details of the day. Women's Club of Portsmouth was gorgeous as always! I could go on and on about how much fun we had, but I want you to get to see it! See the joy, love, and laughter that we had the honor of capturing!
I have been dying to share these beautiful bridals ever since we did them! Katelyn chose Norfolk Botanical Gardens for her Portraits, and we had SO many gorgeousss places at the gardens to use. The trees, flowers, fountains, and a few flying friends! My favorite part of Katelyn's Bridals was getting to go into the Butterfly Garden. We were even able to coax one of them onto Katelyn's bouquet for a few photos.
I love offering the Motherhood Collection, because I whole heartedly understand how precious this journey is. I want to be able to capture each detail along the way for families. It is such an honor to be part of such a priceless time!
Hunter and I had the best time for our anniversary! We decided to go on the Spirit of Norfolk and we had a blast! It was like being at a wedding reception without the cameras in our hands - ha ha! We danced the night away!
Haley and Josh's wedding was SO MUCH FUN! So much love, joy, and laughter...with a little country twang ha ha made this wedding perfect for this amazing couple! You can't look through these photos, and not smile!
